Good day friends. We’re going to look into our disposition in our everyday life, the dichotomy between making numbers and adding value.
At the end of this post we all should be able to discern between making numbers and adding value-we should also know how to go about achieving the better of the two of them.

What does it mean to make numbers?…If you are in a place, say a family, small group or large organization and your role is not well defined, your presence is seldom acknowledged if acknowledged at all, then you may just be making numbers. If your absence is not felt then your presence is not making or has not being making any difference. You’re just making numbers
On the other hand, if you miss a meeting a day and you get text messages, emails and calls from friends about the meeting asking why you were absent, then know you have power at the tip of your finger. Your value is worth your time and your presence is very much felt amongst those in your organization.
Truth is, you cannot make any substantial difference or influence in the public or out side if you don’t start from the right place. “your home”.The saying goes, charity begins at home, and for any good impact you’re gona make, you’ll have to start from your home.
Adding value does not mean giving away 1 billion dollars regularly. Very far from that. Adding value does not mean losing your personality for others to approve of you. The reverse is the case here. To add value in an organisation, family, class, church, school or any gathering whatsoever, you need to affect individual lives. And you need to make sure you do it without them being conscious of what you’re doing.[READ:-make your Presence command respect]
These things requires very little effort, but real and true determination and love for all those involved.
It may be a regular happy birthday message to every birthday celebrant in your group. Checking on those who missed a class, getting to the church first to do the clean up before the arrival of other members, getting out of bed 15minutes earlier to help your sister with the dish, regularly helping mum get the grocery as you return from work or school. Visiting your grand dad,and always getting fruits for your grand ma.(o my goodness,do I tell you everything I know?…you go figure the rest out man!)
These things costs little or nothing at all, but they endear you to the heart of those around you,and if eventually you relocate , those you leave behind will see you irreplaceable-yes not every one is replaceable..and you can make your self irreplaceable too.[READ:-five crazy things you must review]
If you make numbers, when you leave someone else would take your number and you’re automatically forgotten. But if you add value, no one would fit into your shoes. Even when the next person also adds value like you do, your uniqueness would stand you out. We’re all unique in our own ways.
In conclusion, strive to add value and not just make numbers,as this would be what you’ll be remembered for.
